I'm doing last minute work on our Halloween Haunted house. I decided I needed a pillow box but alas could not find any in the local stores so I decided to make my own. It's kind of primitive but I hope self explanatory. Click here for a free pdf file template of the pillow box and follow along:
Best used with card stock.
1. Print the template
2. Cut the outer lines. Be sure to get between the ovals
3. Use a bone folder or back of a butter knife to press on the inner lines, these will be the fold.
This is a good time to decorate the blank side of the pillow box (optional :) )
4. Fold in half lengthwise and use tape or glue to hold down the tab.
5. Push in the side to make the pillow

These are super cute and a great idea for kids to make their own packaging for the holidays. They can use such an array of different papers. :-)

ReplyDeleteNo, card stock 64 lbs. I think construction paper may be too weak but I suppose it depends what you are putting in them. In my case, I'm putting mini m&ms. I'm glad your daughter enjoys them, thanks for the support.

ReplyDeleteI have never made a big one - but you've given me a challenge to find out - I'll look into it this weekend. One thought - I've seen it made with the corrugated paper. I bet ya that is pretty strong.
DeleteWhat a fun and simple project! My six year old is always wanting to make little treasure boxes for her friends an this looks simple enough for her to master... could make a great little box to leave her tooth under the pillow for the tooth fairy as well :-0
